The Hausbachfall in Reit im Winkl is an impressive waterfall located in the middle of an idyllic gorge on the edge of the town center. Reit im Winkl's waterfall, the Hausbachfall, is a small landmark of the town. The Hausbach stream rushes down the Hausberg mountain in the north, very close to the town center. Especially after heavy rainfall, enormous masses of water rush down through the gorge. In hot, dry summers, however, it is sometimes barely visible. From a height of over 50 meters, the waterfall plunges over a rock slab into a basin that it has itself washed out over the course of thousands of years. The last few meters to the waterfall are a little difficult as it goes along a rocky and slippery path. But the impressive view of the waterfall is more than worth the reward.
