Very friendly, delicious food, cozy rooms

Very nicely furnished accommodation with a very good breakfast. Although the restaurant was closed on the day we stayed overnight, a free shuttle was organized for 8 people to the neighboring village for dinner. The food there was also plentiful and homely.

The short climb is definitely worth it. There are several ways to get up. All of them go through loose beech forests and also with sunny sections along the edge of the forest.

Hiking pass “Open your eyes” is the motto on the Hochschwarzwald premium hiking trails. Because on every route there is a stamp point in the shape of a cuckoo clock. These offer the opportunity to document the hikes with a stamp in the Hochschwarzwälder hiking pass. The ascent to the Buchberg summit is a bit strenuous but definitely worth it. Fantastic vision, in clear weather up to the Alps.
