In the middle of the 19th century, the Black Forest Association of Württemberg and Baden had built a simple shelter with a fireplace on this site. It burned down in 1909 and a massive lookout tower with accommodation was built in 1910. The lookout tower of the Black Forest Association, also known as the Teufelsmühle, is made of red sandstone and was originally 10 meters high. In 1952 it was increased to 16.20 meters. Nice place for a break with a lounger and seating. Restaurant toilets and children's playground are also available. Merkur Tower can also be climbed with an elevator. Ideal for families with young children. Please explore the remaining attractions yourself.

The Fremersberg is a worthwhile destination with a great view from the tower and a rustic guest hut.

From the Teufelsmühle you have a wonderful view of the Murg Valley. From the tower you can also see large parts of the surrounding Black Forest.

The amber is 693.5 m above sea level. NHN high mountain in the northern Black Forest in the area of the city of Gaggenau, district Rotenfels, and the city of Bad Herrenalb, district Bernbach. It is part of the ridge that delimits the front Murgtal on its east side.
