The tower is even equipped with an elevator and has two levels. The lower viewing level is protected by windows. You can go further up via a narrow staircase. This is also worth it, you simply see more.

The summit of Baden-Baden's local mountain has a lot to offer (lots of rest areas, a source of drinking water, a playground, restaurants and of course great views) and can also be reached by foot or pedal with the Merkur Railway. Accordingly, there is a lot going on here on days with good weather.

A fantastic view of the Rhine plain and also of the other Black Forest heights. Hornisgrinde, Badener Höhe and also the Hohlohturm and the Teufelsmühle are wonderful to see. When the weather is nice there are many paragliders. The Merkur, Baden-Baden's local mountain, is often well attended because the cable car also goes up.

Mercury is easy to spot from afar because of its steep flanks. There have always been legends about a volcano. It is particularly striking and interesting with its towering Mercury Tower. From here you have a very wide view over the Rhine plain and the Black Forest. The mountain railway that leads up here and the adjacent restaurant offer the best conditions, even for those who don't feel like hiking. For everyone else, an extensive hiking network stretches across the Merkur, making it easy to reach from all sides. But be careful: the train is currently closed due to renovation work and can only be reached by foot or bicycle.
