Goldbergsee, a 145-hectare reservoir, was originally created as a flood retention basin. Today, it is one of the most visited recreational areas in Coburg.
The Viaduct Froschgrundsee is a 798 meter long twin-rail railway bridge over the new line Ebensfeld-Erfurt. It is the longest railway arch bridge in Europe with a span of 270 meters with the same span as the neighboring Grümpentalbrücke.
From the platform, you can observe a variety of birds and easily identify the species using the information boards. However, the identification boards are quite faded and should be replaced.
