The Fritz-Pflaum-Hütte is a rustic self-catering hut at 1865m above sea level.

The Fritz Pflaum Hut is a rustic self-catering hut at an elevation of 1,865 meters in the Griesener Kar of the Wilder Kaiser. The ascent is mostly from the Fischbachalm via the Kleine Griesener Tor and takes about three hours. The tour is challenging, requires surefootedness and a head for heights, but is rewarded with spectacular views. The hut itself belongs to the DAV Bavarian section and is only accessible with an AV key.

You can sit wonderfully on the terrace and look forward to delicious food

Good starting point for tours (toll = parking fee 5 €, of which 1.50 € can be redeemed - if you come in the afternoon you can be lucky and the toll station has already closed). Otherwise everything is beautifully laid out with a restaurant, wildlife park, water playground, chalets, alpine shop, etc. and a corresponding amount of hustle and bustle.

From the terrace you can see the main ridge of the Alps. The hut is quite large and easily accessible from the Wochenbrunner Alm, making it a popular hiking destination from there.

Great view from the terrace up to the Ellmauer Tor and down into the day with the Großvenediger in the background (and deckchairs to enjoy the view). The Kaiserschmarrn is really good - depending on the occupancy also with service. Easy to reach from the Wochenbrunner, so a mixed crowd of hikers, mountaineers and a few climbers - but significantly less hustle and bustle than below.
