At only 31 km, the Zillertal Cycle Route is perfect for anyone who would like to take a more leisurely approach to their cycling holiday in Austria. This cycle tour through the famous Zillertal is especially popular with beginners and families with children. Because the easy route takes you along the wide, sunny valley floor, mostly on asphalt and gravel without any significant climbs.

The Olpererhütte at 2389 meters offers an excellent overnight accommodation for climbing higher peaks. There are sleeping spaces for 5 people each and you need to bring sleeping bags. The hut also offers beautiful panoramic views of the surrounding peaks and the reservoir, making it an ideal starting point for hikes and mountain tours. The restaurant is also recommended and offers a diverse selection at reasonable prices. After a strenuous day in the mountains, you can enjoy delicious meals here and experience the cosiness of the hut.

The landscape is beautiful wherever you look, but be careful, the cycle path also has some pitfalls. Suddenly it goes steeply uphill and right at the top you have to stop abruptly because a road crosses it. Always be alert!

Leads past the Schlitterer See.

One of the most beautiful huts in the mountains. I spent the night there years ago with my mountain friends. Further on to Schönbichlerhorn, down to Schlegeisspeicher, Meierhöfen. Wonderful alpine tour. Ascent on the first day from the Breitlahner inn to the Berliner Hütte. 2nd day overnight stay in the Furtschlagelhaus. The tour started in August 2002.

Good place to stop and spend the night at the end of the valley with a view of the glacier.
