From the Catholic Day Cross on Freiburg's Hirzberg you have a beautiful view of the Dreisamtal and across to the Schönberg. A wooden lounger and two benches are available for a break and to enjoy the view.

At just under 1000 meters, those who prefer leisurely driving can also take a short break at the Gasthof Holzschlägermatte - nice to sit outside in the summer.

Freiburg Castle, better known as Burghaldenschloss, is a former hilltop castle on the Schlossberg at 376.3 m above sea level. NN in the area of today's Ludwigshöhe above the city of Freiburg im Breisgau in Baden-Württemberg. As early as 1091, the Zähringen Duke Berthold II had the beautiful Castrum de Friburch built in the Romanesque style on Freiburg's Schlossberg, which was later sung about by Hartmann von Aue.
