The Schauinsland is 1,284 meters high and is the local mountain of the university town of Freiburg im Breisgau, located on the edge of the southern Black Forest. The drive up to the pass (1,202 meters) is perfect for an after-work ride.

Great climb from Freiburg to the Schauinsland. You don't have to go up to the lookout tower to get a view of the valley. Shortly below the mountain station or at the mountain station you have a clear view down to Freiburg and to the Vosges.

The pass height is 1202 m
Coming from Freiburg from the crossing of the Dreisam river with approx. 17.7 km length, approx. 925 m difference in altitude, with 8-10% gradient, except for a few short sections with 11-12%.
