Beautiful route, but I recommend doing it with a MTB, even better if an e-bike and not with a Gravel bike. Unfortunately, the surface of the forest road both before and after the Lancia refuge, due to the heavy rains of spring 2024, is very loose and irregular which, combined with the slope, is impossible to do by pedaling. For the rest, the landscape is like a postcard and even if you walk a bit carrying your bike, it is worth it. Beautiful tour.

Named after General Achille Papa, Gold Medal for military valor who died during the First World War in 1917, the refuge is located at the saddle of the Porte del Pasubio, at 1,928 meters above sea level, on the massif of the same name. Today the Papa refuge is owned by the CAI of Schio and boasts around sixty beds.

The 5 Cime equipped path is superb. Departure from Bocchetta Campiglia, the path immediately starts uphill towards the beautiful Laita, Quarto Forni Alti peak, Passo di Val Fontana d'Oro, Cimone del Soglio Rosso and the top of the observatory, then down to the Rif Papa.
