The mill in Antweiler bears the date 1686 on its door lintel, along with the ducal coat of arms of the Lords of Aremberg. This indicates that the mill was a ducal compulsory mill, meaning it was leased out for specific periods. The mill's predecessor on the same site dates back even further, to 1525, as records of tolls exist from that year onward. In the 19th century, following the collapse of the Duchy, the mill became private property. It was converted in 1913 and has been generating electricity ever since.
