The church was built in 1721, presumably by Joseph Greissing. The church has a hipped roof and trough-shaped stucco ceilings. Above the articulated western gable facade rises a ridge turret with a French-style cap.

The former district capital of the Gerolzhofen district, which was dissolved in 1972, is designated as a medium-sized center and is the only town in the Schweinfurt district, but only the fifth largest municipality by population. The high altar was built around the middle of the 17th century. The central figure is the Mother of God with child in front of reliefs of the fourteen helpers. Above it is a group of figures depicting the Coronation of Mary. The side altars with altar paintings of St. Liborius (right) and St. Barbara (left) were made around 1680. In contrast to those of the high altar, its columns are twisted. There are also figures of Saints Clare and Catherine (around 1500) as well as Saint Sebastian and a crucifix from around 1750 in the church.
