The story of the resident swan/goose pair is truly interesting. Originally, there were several swans, geese, and ducks, almost all of which were taken by a fox(?), but a swan and a goose remained and became inseparable! When they thought it would be better to separate them, the swan was visibly unhappy, and they brought her back! The two are actually only a few meters apart all day, sleeping together, chattering together! The two alone are worth a visit! But the cafes are only open until 5 p.m.!!

The Swan Pond is the center of the spa industry in Bad Schmiedeberg. The surrounding area features many benches, several sculptures, a few cafes, and, since 2021, a graduation tower where you can enjoy the healing, salty air.
