    After the ferry is worth a short detour via Castle Pretzsch. Especially in the summer, when it is hot, the cyclists expected a cozy coffee with outdoor seating and of course next to food and drinks and a toilet. Then it goes to the rest directly to the Elbe cycle path back towards Torgau.

            There was a rampart here as early as the 10th century, which was rebuilt into a representative Renaissance palace between 1571 and 1574. The builder was Hans Löser, Saxon hereditary marshal and godchild of Martin Luther. The well-known reformer liked to stay in the property between Wittenberg and Torgau.                     Pretzsch Castle is located on the Elbe River at the edge of the Düben Heath and is one of Saxony's most important Renaissance castles. Built in the 16th century, it later served as the widow's residence of Christiane Eberhardine, the Saxon Electress and Polish Queen, who lived a life of seclusion here.

                    The castle, with its lovingly restored castle park, invites visitors to stroll through Baroque garden art. Inside, visitors can enjoy changing art exhibitions, a permanent exhibition on the castle's history, and the cozy Eberhardine Castle Café, serving homemade specialties.
