Coming via the Kaltenbach valley, coming via the Neuhaushütte, back to the Gompelscheuer hiking parking lot

Between Wildbad and Calmbach, you can only choose between the plague and cholera. Anyone who wants to avoid the busy traffic on Neue Wildbader Straße and doesn't fancy the completely destroyed Alte Calmbacher Straße (Enz Valley Cycle Path) will at least find a shady, car-free alternative here in exchange for additional elevation gain. Coming from Calmbach, the climb is approximately 4-6%. The surface is surprisingly good in the middle section, but at the ends, there's a rubble track typical of Wildbad, which is in no way inferior to the Alte Calmbacher Straße (Enz Valley Cycle Path). The surface near Calmbach is really bad, and the section near Wildbad (Brunnensteige) is also quite steep. This makes the downhill quite challenging, and you'll get quite a bit of a shake-up before you're spat out on the other side of the Meistern Tunnel.

A very beautiful section of the Tour de Murg with impressive views of the valley. The altitude can almost make you dizzy. The climb is very pleasant with a gradient of ~4%. Extreme caution is required on the descent. The path becomes quite narrow when encountering oncoming traffic; the curves are confusing. You should also expect pedestrians – especially on weekends, it's busier. Simply letting it roll and blasting down the valley at over 50 km/h is absolutely irresponsible!

The smooth surface is very smooth. Only the exposed section in between is a bit annoying on the uphill. If you don't feel like taking the busier road, you'll have to take the detour via Naislach. At least the route via Naislach is much flatter. Shortly before Agenbach, the path actually takes a detour across the fields, but you can return to the road earlier (luckily, there's no blue lollipop, so it's not mandatory, and you have the choice). Caution: No winter maintenance!

The 60 km/h (37 mph) Peter promised probably refers to the descent from Kaltenbronn, but even though things are slower here in the valley, this is still a pure speed route. The road is flat with occasional slight downhill sections (~1-2% gradient), so you're consistently traveling between 35 and 45+ km/h (37 and 45+ mph). Uphill, toward Nonnenmiß, I like to ride along the hilly bike path on the other side of the river for some peace and quiet, but toward Wildbad, I prefer the road, where you can just tear through the speed until you drop. There's usually relatively little traffic, but you have to expect trucks on weekdays during regular working hours, and day-trippers, including a few overconfident racers, on weekends and in the evenings.
