A fantastic cycling route leads across the Isebek Canal amidst beautiful natural scenery. The bridge is both highly recommended and interesting.

The Goeben Bridge in Hamburg is a quiet gem in the Eimsbüttel district – a bridge that blends history, functionality, and urban tranquility. As a double bridge for pedestrians and cyclists, it lies in the so-called "Prussian Corner" of Eimsbüttel and spans the Isebek Canal – a green ribbon that winds its way through the neighborhood like a gentle breath. The Isebek Canal is a nearly three-kilometer-long stretch of water in Hamburg. A footpath and cycle path at the southern end of Kaiser-Friedrich-Ufer; to the right, a view of the Kaifu-Bad (bath). Isebek means something like "iron stream" in High German. The name derives from the high iron content of the water, which is believed to have been caused by iron sulfide from a tributary stream originating in the Langenfeld salt flats. The Isebek Canal is approximately 20 meters wide and up to two meters deep. It is densely vegetated with trees and shrubs along its banks and is flanked by several green spaces. It begins in the Eimsbüttel district and finally flows into the Alster River about 500 meters before it widens to form the Outer Alster. A visit is highly recommended.

I passed through there on my tour "Hamburger Energienetze Outward Journey" on August 18, 2025. I didn't appreciate this scenery sufficiently while passing by. I thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the scenery along the route. This applies to both the outward and return journeys.
