easy walk around / run around, good trail nice surface, smooth onclines, plenty of resting areas . maybe a bit muddy with big piddles on rainy days! I've done it with my 3+ yo.

A fantastic café. Friendly staff and great food and coffee. Limited opening hours so check before you go. It was cash only when we visited but fear not. There is a cash machine at Haverigg post office. Definitely worth a visit. They're fine with muddy cyclists too! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

In dire need of some TLC the poor lighthouse!!

Silecroft Beach looks out towards offshore Irish Sea windfarms to the west and the slopes of Black Combe to the north. It's a nice spot for lunch and has a nice little cafe. The nearby train station is on the Ravenglass line and makes for a good starting point for a hike to Black Combe's summit at 2,000 feet (600 m). One of the more prominent of Wainwright's Outlying Fells, there are spectacular views into the heart of Lakeland from its summit.

The Hodbarrow Lighthouse is a poignant landmark surrounded by a landscape that has seen former glory turn to financial collapse. Before the Hodbarrow mines closed in 1968 they were the most productive iron-ore mines in the world, employing 2,000 workers at their height. Most of the site is now an RSPB nature reserve. Great-crested grebe, tufted duck, ringed plover, oystercatcher and little tern can be seen here, amongst others.
