Going up from Glenridding will be a push for most, I think. Can be quite windy up there, but still good fun.

From here you get a beautiful view looking north over the picturesque waters of Ullswater. The area is surrounded by dramatic fells and the lake is often considered one of the most scenic in the UK.

Lovely views from Askham fell before the excellent decent towards Pooley Bridge.

Probably the best way of getting from Howtown to Patterdale, nice climb up out of Howtown, a short steep section of bike carrying but then a killer down hill to brotherswater or patterdale

What a place to zee

Open between late May and early October, the Lowther Barn Tea Room is a wonderful place to stop for a drink and something to eat. The views of Ullswater from the seating outside make any coffee taste good. It's open between 11:00 and 16:00. There is also accommodation available on the farm if you are looking for somewhere off the beaten track to stay during your time in the Lake District.
