This stone village church truly stands out. It's unusually sturdy and so ideally situated in the small village that it offers excellent views from all sides. There are plenty of great photo opportunities!

Among the most important furnishings is a tall, three-tiered carved wooden altar with richly decorated ormolu work, dating from 1625. It originated in Schmölln and was installed in Gerswalde in 1983. The altar depicts scenes of the Last Supper, the Crucifixion, the Resurrection, and the Ascension, as well as the Evangelists in shell niches.

The grassy forest path leads straight ahead to the beautiful swimming spot. It's the only one on the lake that truly deserves its name and is easily accessible. Beware: The spot is incredibly romantic and offers magnificent views of three small huts on the lake (opposite shore) and a circular island that's not even marked on most maps.

The center of the Uckermark!

Poratz is a very pretty village with its own atmosphere. Unique in its form, also due to the wonderful landscape all around with the rolling hills and lonely forests. A real highlight of the Uckermark!

The forestry office is a building worth seeing, but unfortunately the rest area on the property under the impressive thick oak tree is obviously not intended for tourists. At least there is the chance to get information material or learn interesting details in the facility. Just behind the main building, a forest nature trail branches off, but it is now pretty dilapidated. Everything looks almost like pure wilderness. There is a nice rest area with a view of the countryside directly opposite the forestry office and this is undoubtedly there for everyone.

In the partially drained fish ponds, many herons stand and lurk...

The former Cistercian monastery of Chorin is picturesquely located behind the vineyard on a lake. The red brick walls tower high and can compete with the old trees in the park. The Gothic design language and the filigree ornamentation of the large cathedrals such as those in Cologne, Paris and Siena were transformed into brick for the first time in Brandenburg. Chorin is therefore a key work of North German brick Gothic. Many other churches in the near and far surroundings were built based on the model of the Chorin Cistercian church. These include the Franciscan churches in Berlin and Angermünde as well as St. Mary's Church in Neubrandenburg.
