Dobbertin Monastery is special in every way. It is picturesquely situated on Lake Dobbertin. It is the only monastery in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania that belongs to the state. Dobbertin Monastery was a Benedictine monastery founded in 1234, which later became a nunnery. After the Reformation, decreed for Mecklenburg in 1549, the monastery became a Protestant convent in 1572. The Dobbertin Church is today the church of the Evangelical Lutheran Congregation of Dobbertin, but also the "house church" for the diaconal institution. It is the only church in Mecklenburg with two towers. The elongated, single-nave space is vaulted. The Diakoniewerk took over operation in 1991 as an institution primarily for mentally disabled people, for whom the monastery is a new home. Guided tours take place from May to September on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 3 p.m. In the workshops, visitors can get an insight into the work and lives of the residents of Dobbertin Monastery. A café by the lake, where tours are offered, offers refreshments and refreshments. "It's good to be here," one might say; everything invites you to linger. Quite a small burial mound in the middle of a field, but easily recognizable. The distribution of the burial mounds suggests that they were often built on the edge of a settlement area and served to make the boundaries of territories visible.

This is one of three stone circles in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, and one of the few in Germany. It is a little off the beaten track, but is well signposted. The stone circle is rather small in size, about 10 - 15 meters in diameter. The total of 9 stones form a visually intact megalithic structure. The individual stones are up to 1.50m high. It is estimated that several thousand stone circles were built in Europe during the Middle Stone Age. Many of them have disappeared over time, e.g. due to weathering or the formation of bogs, others were used as material. Today only a few hundred remain, and this is one of them. (The Stone Age was so long ago! 9600 - 4300 BC)

The "Dröge Kraug" (dry inn) at this crossroads was a resting place for forest workers and carters a long time ago. They would probably have wanted a pub (tavern) at this point. The old paths are already visible on the Schmettauschen map from 1794. According to this, old highways crossed here. There is a saying about the Drögen Kraug: "If you want to drink and you don't have anything, you should go back. This is the Dröge Kraug. If you have something by you, you can sit back and it's only an hour away. Nothing will bother you in the long run here"
