Anyone traveling along the Havel Cycle Path will experience an incredibly beautiful stretch from here to Wesenberg. A narrow, paved path winds through the rolling landscape, passing through open spaces, forests, and lakes, always in solitude. A ride to dream about!

The surface is good for cycling, but unfortunately, there's no dedicated bike path. You'll be harassed by cars on the narrow road because there's no room to overtake properly. Therefore, the description "nice bike path" is misleading. 😔

The water tower in Strelitz-Alt, a striking landmark of Neustrelitz, was built between 1903 and 1907 on a hill on Fürstenberger Straße and served as the district's water supply. With a height of 40.4 meters and a capacity of 140 cubic meters, it was in operation until 1979. Due to increased water supply demands, the Kiefernheide pressure station with its associated clean water tanks was put into operation in 1978/79. After a restoration in 1997, the tower is now a listed building and is used as a technical monument.

The view from the bridge over the Havel Canal on Neustrelitzer Straße in Wesenberg is particularly charming. From here, a wide view opens up over the waters of the Havel, lined with lush greenery. The tranquil, natural surroundings invite you to pause for a moment—ideal for a short stop on a bike ride. The bridge itself is a popular vantage point and offers a beautiful perspective on the typical landscape of the Mecklenburg Lake District. Also nearby are the "Fischerhof" farm and rest areas that invite you to take a break.

But the Havel is also everywhere.
