The Trail of Sleeping Stones near Zislow is a circular trail that combines nature and history. The trail leads through forested areas, along the shores of Lake Plau, and past archaeological relics such as burial mounds, megalithic tombs, and small bowl stones, which bear witness to Slavic settlement between the 7th and 9th centuries. The highlight is the Zislow observation tower, which offers impressive views of the lake and the surrounding landscape. The trail is not only suitable for hiking but can also be explored by bike: Cycleable paths allow for a relaxing bike ride, where nature, culture, and history can be experienced in a unique way. This circular trail is therefore ideal for nature lovers and history buffs.

A wonderful, naturally formed lakeside trail. Caution is advised. If you encounter oncoming traffic, dismount and pass each other. The trail is doable, but you must ride very carefully. Tree roots and winding paths lead along it. It's very idyllic, and a visit is highly recommended.

Beautiful forest path

Although it's right next to the hiking trail, this spot, with its bench, is actually a great place for hiking. You'll probably find peace and quiet anyway, as we were practically alone at the lake on our hike.

Ideal for a picnic 👌🏼

The idea of the forest and tree spirits was initiated by the local local history society. At the end of our hike, we met the "Mother of the Tree Spirits," a super-nice lady who has been creating these figures in her free time for many years, helping the trail continue to grow. Awesome dedication!
