Beautifully quiet. It makes sense to cycle east of the canal in Güstrow and then later switch to the western side. Initially, the cycle path shares a small paved road with cars. Later, the cycle path becomes a beautiful ride on a smooth concrete path.

In Neukirchen, the mighty church tower greets you from afar! This imposing fieldstone church was built in the mid-13th century. The door and window frames are made of brick, a new and expensive building material at the time! The interior is a two-bay nave, vaulted like the chancel. The oldest piece of furnishings is the late Gothic crucifix from the 15th century.

The Zernin church is the first rural church in Mecklenburg to receive a specially designed solar roof. The entire structure was renovated in 1997. The result was a bright, airy church space, illuminated by a continuous light band below the eaves. The parish barn has been converted into a meeting place, open to all, hosting a wide variety of events. Catering is also available here.

A huge brick Gothic building that dominates the entire city center, especially when you consider that the cathedral is already the only church of this size in the city! (The tower roof was added later.) A magnificent, very detailed altar (in times without TV and electronic media, it must have been like watching TV!), finely crafted Gothic figures above (next to Christ on the cross), a beautifully painted spiral staircase to the gallery and a few Art Nouveau wall designs are very pleasing.
