Needle with Golden Thread On this site once stood the only mill in Schwabach's old town, dedicated to the needle-making trade and giving the Nadlersbach stream its name. At the height of the 19th century, roughly a quarter of the city's population was employed in needle production across 231 workshops and factories. The civic foundation "Unser Schwabach" (Our Schwabach) initiated a community project with Schwabach residents engaged in local history and art. Very worth seeing medieval-looking town center.

The artwork stands on the site of what was once the only mill in Schwabach's old town dedicated to needle making. At its peak in the early 19th century, around a quarter of Schwabach's population was employed in needle production across the city's 231 workshops and factories. The artwork is by Klaus-LEO Drechsel and is made of stainless steel with Schwabach gold leaf.
