I passed by there today, October 1, 2025, on my "Dieksee Fish Stall" tour. This beautiful area has been keeping me going for several days. I'm eking out a living at the Vital Klinik Buchenholm.

Ponds located in the Diekseeholm forest that were previously used for fish farming. This natural attraction in Malente was created in 1869 for the breeding of noble fish. The ponds are fed by fresh spring water from the "Diekseeholm" forest area. They are connected to each other by small streams and channels. The ponds got their name because the surrounding trees are reflected particularly beautifully in the calm, smooth water. In the immediate vicinity of the mirror ponds is one of Malente's Kneipp pools: a natural water treading area and an arm Kneipp pool.

At the end of the Dodauer Lake, slightly elevated, is this rest area with three benches and two information boards on which you can read how this lake was renaturalized. From this spot, the water birds swimming on the lake can be observed easily and undisturbed.
