He embarked on numerous expeditions to the Malay Archipelago from 1924 to 1938. Wahlstorf Estate, its inventory, and the East Asian collection of Victor Baron von Plessen are now owned by the Plessen Foundation Wahlstorf. The agricultural holding of approximately 900 hectares is managed by the Gut Wahlstorf Foundation.
