The Schöhsee circular trail offers a perfect mix of an active nature experience and great views, without being too demanding.

It runs through a rural idyll and is known for its diverse waterfowl. With a bit of luck, you might spot great crested grebes, kingfishers, or other species.

The path runs close to the water and offers magnificent views of the clear Schöhsee, which is one of the most nutrient-poor and therefore clearest lakes in Schleswig-Holstein.

The path is mostly easy to walk on, partly unpaved and leads largely through natural, car-free or at least car-free areas.

The walking time is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes to 1 hour and 30 minutes, depending on the pace.

Lake Schluensee has a very irregular shape, running from southwest to northeast. It has a maximum length of approximately 2 km and a maximum width of approximately 600 m, is one of the deepest lakes in Schleswig-Holstein with a depth of approximately 45 m, and covers an area of about 127 hectares.
