Beautiful cabin

Level T4 ascent, difficult route for experienced hikers, but with few exposed sections and easily passable. Caution is advised in late summer due to snow.

The church, dedicated to Saint Ambrose, stands in the upper part of the village and was first mentioned in the 15th century. The current building, in late Baroque style, is the work of Tommaso Colonetti from Balerna. The foundations of the bell tower date back to an earlier date. The paintings on the façade are modern, with the exception of a fragment of a fresco depicting Saint Christopher on the right, created in 1718. The main portal, framed by ashlars, dates from the 16th century, as does the fresco of the Nativity in the lunette. The ornate side entrance probably dates from the 16th century. The polygonal chapel contains 17th-century Rococo-style stucco work, as does a wooden statue of the Virgin Mary from the same period. The paintings, depicting scenes from the life of the patron saint, date from the 19th century.

The Capanna Brogoldone is an alpine pasture with two main huts. One hut can accommodate up to 59 people. The other hut houses a small restaurant. Amazing views from up there!

The Capanna Brogoldone was once a mountain pasture and is today the result of a desire to preserve the remains of a bygone era. From 1995 to 1998, a group of volunteers set to work renovating the two existing buildings while maintaining the typical structure of the pasture: the former stable became a dormitory, and the building that once served as a cheese dairy and shelter for the mountain herders was converted into a kitchen and dining room. The oratory of San Martino is located on Mount Paglio above Lodrino. It is an ancient church, already mentioned in 1215, with a Romanesque bell tower. The privileged position on the Val Riviera allows you to enjoy a beautiful landscape over the Ticino river and the mountains on the other side.

The Sentiero Riviera is a route that follows the Ticino river from Biasca to Bellinzona. It is an excellent opportunity to appreciate the beauty and variety of the Riviera Valley, where you can practice sporting activities such as trekking, canoeing and rafting.
