The Scheldemeersen, Doornhammeke - on the left bank there is still a small, fine, unspoiled succession of small plots bordered with pollard willows. It is the typical small-scale landscape of the last 200 years with moist lakes and meanders cut off by the straightening of the Scheldt. The area is home to many biotopes in a small area compared to the right bank. In February 2023, a beaver family was spotted that have beautifully 'sculpted' the pollard willows.

Kraanvogel – ROA painted this bird in 2009 after asking the owner of the house if it was ok to paint on this house. The owner saw some pictures from what ROA already had done and said "go ahead". It was somehow the beginning of a legend, because with this wall ROA got for the first time really big exposure, also in the media. It has become a landmark for this neighbourhood. There were some tags some years ago, but they were quickly removed. The bird is still as fresh as ever. NL ROA painted this work in 2009 after he managed to convince the owner of the house to take care of the house. He was able to do this with photos of his other works, including empty buildings in Ghent. The owner said "go ahead" and a legend was born. This work, among other things, gave ROA more attention and started its international fame. This bird has since become a landmark for the neighborhood. Some tags that were once there were quickly removed. The crane still looks fresh. Source: Street Art Cities
