Balanced Rock is a huge, 700-ton boulder perched on a small pedestal just off of the main Garden of the Gods Road. Don't expect to be here alone, however. There is a small parking area for this famous rock, and there are frequently crowds of people scrambling up to it to take photos.

This is an absolutely stunning spot. The road passes over the dam, so there are unrivaled views across Crystal Creek Reservoir to Pikes Peak. There is a visitor center next door with restrooms and a gift shop where you can stop on your way up, or way down.

Ute Valley Park is a popular destination for hiking, mountain biking, dog walking, and running. The park offers vistas, geological features and destination-level trails, all readily accessible to outdoor enthusiasts in surrounding neighborhoods and the city. Ute Valley Park is home to diverse wildlife, vegetation and rich archeological features. The rocky-forested hogback formations are an integral part of the Colorado Springs backdrop, a place of important historical, environmental, scenic and recreational value.

Across the street from the Air Force Academy main campus is the Air Force Academy Airfield that has a designated parachute landing zone.

Hanover Church is very much out in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by vast rolling hills. At this location is the staging for the Groove Subaru Excel Sports Road Race, which is 1 to 2 laps (depending on category) of this tour.
