Nice creek views and for it being a shorter trail ,if you go off the main trail I would recommend at least 1 trekking pole

The Northside Trail leads along St Joseph's River. The river, a tributary of Lake Michigan, flows 206 miles (332 km) through southern Michigan and northern Indiana. It's a great place for an evening stroll or bike ride.

Saint Joseph's Lake is a stone's throw from Saint Mary's Lake. They are close to Notre Dame University, one of the most beautiful campuses in the country.

This is a beautiful neo-gothic church that was built at the end of the 19th century. It has 44 stained glass windows and a tall basilica bell tower. Tou can visit from 9am until 9pm during university term time and from 4pm during holidays. Admission is free.

The Indiana-Michigan River Valley Trail runs along the eastern bank of the St. Joseph River. The route runs on the old abandoned railroad of the New York Central Railroad. The trail passes through Riverfront Park in downtown Niles, which was an important station.

Can be a bit muddy, and the creek crossing is just some logs and sticks. But the creek is nice!

Just a brisk walk downtown, no problem!
