The most beautiful part of IJlst lies along the Eegracht and Galamagracht canals. Along these long canals, you'll find beautiful facades and stately houses from the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries. The beautiful, authentic atmosphere that IJlst exudes is largely due to its many historic buildings.

The factory's old chimney, on which the company name can be read from top to bottom, is a defining feature of IJlst's skyline. For decades, the factory was a leader in the production of ice skates, children's toys, and, above all, tools.

Heempark is located on the outskirts of Heeg. It is a magnificent 12-hectare area where nature is given space. It is a wonderful place to hike and enjoy nature.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Restaurant De Watersport in Heeg. This restaurant is small but excellent. It's located right on a small canal, and the lovely terrace is a great place to sit. The food was delicious and of superb quality.
