The construction of this mill was put out to tender on March 26, 1738; Dirk Piek from Oud-Alblas took on the job for ƒ 8,800. From about 1785 to 1846, this mill was also a polling mill for the Nederwaard. A fire broke out in 1786, but it was extinguished with the help of the Alblasserdam fire brigade. Particularly striking is the buttress on the NE side of the hull: this mill, just like the mill No. which was only straightened in the 21st century. 5, has sagged quite a bit and people here, probably around 1870, wanted to prevent further subsidence as much as possible with this buttress. The brickwork around the tub also clearly shows that an attempt was made to correct the tilt with the resources available at the time. In 2006/2007, the waterways were largely renovated; Furthermore, a major maintenance service was carried out on the roof in the winter of 2007/2008: the truss ring, lattice timbers, roof trusses and purlins were renewed and finally a new thatch. The mill was shut down in August 2012: the bow, pin and neck bearings were no longer in good condition and both rods also need to be checked. On January 14, 2013, the outer rod was ironed and a new one was inserted the next day. Shortly afterwards the mill was operational again. In 2016, the mill received a new wind shield. In 2018, the inner rod was repaired after a crack was discovered. In April 2019, the miller noticed that there was another crack in the same place. It was then decided to replace it. At the beginning of May 2019, this rod was lowered and the mill was able to run again, albeit with one rod for the time being. On September 4, 2019, the mill received a new inner rod. Shortly afterwards this mill was able to grind again.
