De Swaen, formerly known as Windlust, is a windmill built in 1703 in the municipality of Hoeksche Waard, in the Dutch province of South Holland. The mill is located at Spuidijk 29 in Nieuw-Beijerland. It is a round stone corn mill of the ground sailor type with a thatched roof. Nowadays the mill is only used as a reception center, because the interior has been almost completely demolished. Only the upper shaft with the upper wheel is still present in the mill. History The flour mill De Swaen, located on the Spuidijk, was originally built in 1703 as De Windlust. Not much is known about the history before about 1900.
