Bridge closed again On the website of the province of South Holland We are carrying out maintenance on the Kandelaar Bridge from Monday, June 16, to Monday, September 1, 2025. The bridge will be closed during this period. Cyclists and pedestrians can use a ferry to cross the Schie River during this period. There will be closures for shipping and boaters.

Beautiful piece of history these mills. In the past it was full of mills from here to Rotterdam. On a racing bike you will not visit the mill museum in Zevenhuizen that quickly but if you are walking here (which is also nice) definitely take a look.

A classic Dutch wip watermill in Hazerswoude, along the Gemeneweg that connects Hazerswoude-Dorp and Hazerswoude-Rijndijk. The mill dates from 1639. The traditionally known name is Gemenewegsemolen, later the 'Rooie Wip'. It no longer has a function in the water management. However, it still grinds. See also: https://www.rooiewip.nl/
