A beautiful meandering path between two lakes. On one side lies the Loenderveense Plas, and on the other, the Wijde Blik. The Loenderveense Plas is a bird sanctuary. Boating and swimming are prohibited there. This keeps it a peaceful area where many birds can be seen. Along the path, there are several places to stop and paddle in the Wijde Blik. Cycling glasses are recommended, as insects often fly around and end up in your eyes.

Beautiful path, but in the high season you have to share this path with a lot of cyclists, so plan your trip early and on a weekday is my advice!

The drainage of the Breukelerveen and Tienhoven water board was originally carried out by two barges (built in 1649 and 1684) at the northern end of the Scheendijk-Noord in Breukelen. They discharged their water directly south of the Weersluis lock into the Vecht River. The mills were shut down in 1830 and demolished in 1840. By that time, the area of the Loosdrechtse Plassen had been created by peat extraction. In the eastern corner of Tienhoven, the land remained in agricultural use, and the farmers there suffered from significant flooding. They joined forces, established the Oostelijke Binnenpolder (Eastern Inner Polder), and had their own mill built, which discharged water into the Breukeleveen and Loosdrechtse Plassen. The necessary land was purchased in 1831, and the mill and adjacent lock were put into operation in 1833. Sypesteyn offers a unique glimpse into the world of Henri van Sypesteyn (1857-1937). Opposite the 15th-century Sijpekerk, the nobleman built the castle on old foundations at the beginning of the last century; the spot where he himself envisioned his ancestral home. This later turned out to be just a dream, but the result was a stylish building, surrounded by moats and a beautiful historic garden. With Sypesteyn, the nobleman wanted to honor his family. The castle's interior remains largely as the nobleman left it in the 1930s. During the guided tours, you'll discover all facets of the nobleman's rich collection, including the Armory, the Gothic Room, and the 17th-century Low Hall. The cycling route offers occasional glimpses of the water, but truly relaxing with a view during a break is almost exclusively possible here, as nearly everywhere else is private property. There are a few other spots, but they aren't as nicely landscaped.

It would actually be nicer to sit here with a snack on the meadow and enjoy the relaxing view over the water.

Views over the water along the route are great, but you need to watch out a bit to find viewpoints as most is private land/gardens of the houses here.
