Walking straight through the bunker leads to a small, bird-rich pond, which is a lovely place to stroll around.

Bunker/group shelter built in 1940 and sawn into two in 2010 as part of an artist's project, making it a beautiful photo location. Together with the bunker located on the other side of the highway, it was part of the government project Molenkade and tackled by the artist collective RAAAF Atelier de Lyon. The posts along the path/deck that runs into the water basin show the height of the water level that would be there if the area were flooded to defend the land.

The Diefdijk is the cross dike between Lek and Waal and forms the border between Gelderland and Utrecht. The Diefdijk Line (the cross dike) was a defense line with forts along the dike where the lower grounds were flooded.
