A nice place to take a break.

This is the monastery church of St. Michael. The two-storey double church belonging to the monastery is also worth mentioning. The upper church is only accessible through the mission house: a light-filled room in which the original neo-Gothic interior has been almost completely preserved. It is often used for larger celebrations and events in the summer months. The lower church of the mission house of St. Michael, a contemplative place of silence, serves as a prayer room for the Steyl community. The artist Will Horsten from Kevelaer redesigned it in 1972; he added modern elements to the old church space. The high grave of St. Arnold Janssen is also located here. In the upper church of the mission house there is a historic organ (Späth/Klais from 1888/1937). International organ concerts are played on the German-romantic instrument in the summer months.

In Baarlo you pass one of the four castles in this village. Kasteel d'Erp, which was built in its current form in the seventeenth century, is located in castle park 't Kempje where you can take a nice break. There was already a castle here in 1200. The castle is currently privately occupied. Between 1962 and 2009, Scheres Castle, northwest of the route, was home to the artist Shinkichi Tajiri. He is best known for his knot-shaped sculptures.

Small playground with slide, climbing pole, see-saw animal etc. and a bench to relax. There is a supermarket just around the corner, where you could buy something to refresh yourself.

Very nice little nice place. The square in the center is almost ideal for a break.

While waiting for the ferry you can enjoy the "Skyline" of Steyl. A ferry ride costs €0.90 per bike and driver.

The convent houses the pink sisters, among others. They live secluded and silent in the monastery. They take turns praying 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
