Nice to walk along - and I come here very often - but during the summer holidays I prefer to stay away. Still a bit too much behavior that is not my own.

You have to walk a short distance on the narrow cycle path on the dike unless you climb down the dike to walk along the water, so be careful.

Beautiful piece of history these mills. In the past it was full of mills from here to Rotterdam. On a racing bike you will not visit the mill museum in Zevenhuizen that quickly but if you are walking here (which is also nice) definitely take a look.

This small ferry connects Ouderkerk and Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel and offers a peaceful crossing of the Hollandse IJssel. While sailing, you have a beautiful view of the water, the dike houses and the vast polders on both banks. A convenient connection for cyclists and hikers who want to explore the Krimpenerwaard and the Groene Hart.

The Aarlanderveen mill corridor is located near Alphen a/d Rijn. This is the mill corridor of Zevenhuizen and is no longer in use. Pumping has been taken over by the Ir pumping station further away. Hans, your tip is incorrect because this is not the mill corridor of Aarlanderveen but of Zevenhuizen.
