This electric pumping station was commissioned in 1936 by then-dike reeve H.C. de Jongh. Two memorial plaques on the pumping station commemorate the two previous (steam) pumping stations. The pumping station was modernized in 1998. Today, it is controlled by a computer in Druten.

The water level sculpture in Zaltbommel is a two-part work of art. A large sculpture of approximately 4 metres high stands in the floodplains of the Waal. The sculpture is a boy in his swimming trunks who holds up his left hand to indicate how high the river water of the Waal may rise before Zaltbommel gets wet feet. The hand indicates the level of the top of the quay wall (8.87 m NAP). On the quay there is a second sculpture with only the head and the hand. The sculpture was made by artist Marcel Smink.

For 100 years, this has been the ideal place to rest after walking or cycling through the dunes. At the edge of the forest with a view over the meadows, it is wonderful to dream away. Adventures start or end here.
