Great Coffee at South Beach Kiosk!!

The A708 follows the northern shore of St Mary's Loch, the largest natural body of water in the Scottish Boarders. It's an A road and people do drive fast, but it's never that busy, so It's a fun ride with great views. The loch takes its name from the chapel that once stood on the northern shore. The chapel has gone, but the graveyard remains.

This climb is so rewarding. Mile by mile your eyes are drawn to crystal clear streams, emerald grass and unbroken cobalt skies. Fuel yourself up at Innerleithen first at one of its fantastic cafes.

You can’t continue on this road and take the forrest track on to Stration.

The Redbridge Viaduct is a substantial 19th century viaduct built for the Edinburgh to Hawick line. It’s now used as a pedestrian and cycle route, with a traffic-free link to Tweedbank station.

Part of NCN Route 1, this is a particularly scenic road that cuts through the rolling hills of the Scottish Borders.

Beautiful ascending and descending road through the Moorfoot Hills, a hilly mountain range that is especially purple in summer when the heather is in bloom. Relatively quiet road with beautiful views of Edinburgh on the north side.
