Its a very nice route if you do Clanfield to Coleshill.

There a a few pubs and cafes here which make for a good break.

This is a veritable hub for visitors going to visit Coleshill Estate, run by the National Trust. The Old Carpenters Yard in Coleshill is home to Blake's Kitchen, which serves a yummy selection of cakes, savoury foods, sandwiches, or hot food. It has a large outside seating area and is a dog-friendly venue.

Popular cycling stop with their legendary Cinnamon Buns! Closed Mondays otherwise open 9-4pm.

Pleasant village surrounded by quiet lanes with good visibility of oncoming cars

A nice little cafe with a few seats inside and out on the street. Very popular. It also has a small bike rack out the front. Good coffee.

Marked as a public bridleway, but it pretty much well pristine tarmac all the way.

Not that bad! Over quickly with a nice view at the top and then a cracking descent to Lambourn.

Down Ampney is a small village on the Wiltshire Gloucestershire border in the southern Cotswolds. British composer Ralph Vaughan Williams was born here in the vicarage. The cross on the green is a war memorial to the villagers who served in the first and second world wars. RAF Down Ampney was nearby so the village was home to around 3000 service personnel during the second world war.

A lovely village with lots of amenities. Don't stay too long though... you might end up in the stocks!

1st half is harder than the 2nd, but not as hard as some.

"St Michaels is located in the heart of the village at the intersection of the two main roads. It is the largest church in Lambourn and dates back to Saxon times. The first written record of a church at Lambourn is from 1032, in a charter of Cnut, but it seems highly likely there was a Saxon church here several centuries earlier. Charters in 934 and 955 mention Lambourn, and Alfred the Great mentions a royal manor at Lambourn in his will. Though circumstantial, these documents suggest that an important Saxon church, perhaps a minster, stood here at least as early as the 9th century (a minster acted as a ‘mother’ church for a region, and may have had resident priests who traveled out from their base to preach and minister to their far-flung flocks). The circular shape of the churchyard suggests that the site may have been in use in Roman times, or even earlier. The current church of St Michael and All Angels was begun in the 12th century, with major rebuilding in the 13t, 15th, and 19th centuries. The core of the building dates to about 1180, and is constructed on a cruciform plan. To the 12th century core was added a pair of transepts in the 13th century, several 14th century chantry chapels, and the chancel and upper portion of the tower were rebuilt in the 16th century." Although a closed through road, cars can still access this road due to houses and parking. Just be careful and stick to riding on the correct side of the road.
