La Rovira beach is located in the Sau reservoir, where the vestiges of the villages that were flooded to create the reservoir still remain. From this beach there are fantastic views of the spectacular cliffs that surround the swamp.

The Sau reservoir takes advantage of the course of the River Ter as it passes through Vilanova de Sau to create a reservoir for the production of hydroelectric energy thanks to an 83-meter-high dam. When the reservoir was built, the town of Sant Romà de Sau was covered by water, although in times of drought you can see the bell tower of the town church standing out over the water. The Sau Swamp Church is recorded as the oldest standing church in the world standing in the water. The reservoir is surrounded by the spectacular Grau and Tavertet cliffs and the Guilleries forests, creating a magnificent river landscape.
