Spectacular and long descent following the GR-3 to Sant Quirze de Besora. First more technical section and then running!

Emblematic place in the region.

The ruins of the Besora castle and the Romanesque church of Santa María are located on a hill at more than 1000 meters above sea level. It is worth calmly exploring each of its corners and enjoying the beautiful views.

It is a spectacular 6.7 km climb, with spectacular ramps and a narrow road, very well preserved, very winding, drawing all kinds of curves until reaching the Sanctuary. The 360 panoramic views are wonderful: Montseny, flat Vic, the Pyrenees, the sea. You can not ask for much more. I recommend climbing it on a day with good weather to enjoy the views. With the bike you have to reach the entrance of the chapel, overcoming a narrow, concreted and steep final ramp. Don't hesitate and go to the top. Spectacular views, hard route but worth it👍🏼

Sant Quirze de Besora is a picturesque municipality in the Osana region located on the banks of the Ter river. It has a beautiful old town formed around its parish church, which dates from the 10th century but was later reformed.

The Mir waterfall has an impressive drop of 35 meters, which makes it one of the highest in Catalonia. The amount of water that falls down the vertical stone wall depends on the season and the rainfall. It is located in the Bellmunt mountain range, near Santa Maria de Besora.
