Lj's sandwich bar in Gamblingay lovely courtyard round back to sit outside. wonderful friendly staff, so much choice of food. sandwiches, burgers, omelette, salads, chips and of course cakes.

Traffic free NCN route through the countryside, very easy riding.

I'm using this route on the ride from Wootton to Sandy via Danish Camp. It's got a bit of everything, I like it.

Great peaceful place to make a stop on your ride for coffee or drink.

The Stove, Alms Hill, Bourn, Cambridge Great cafe with plenty of spaces inside and out

Great ride on disused railway bed.

Cafes and nice buildings river side. Watch out for the "Rower" on the River Ouse

Route 51 is super along this stretch, it follows a disused railway bed.

Great waterside riding through the park on Route 51 or using the cycle friendly paths and trails around Priory.

These bunkers are amazing, providing shelter and viewpoints on RAF Tempsford airfield in WW2, still intact today, one is situated next the Roman Road Way and the other can be seen in the opposite position on the other side of the field.

Just off the Roman Road and part of the land used by RAF Tempsford, worth a look

Danish camp where you can stop for a snack, icecream, boat ride or more, great cycling

Lovely hard packed trails, through the Grange Estate along the Great River Ouse

Wonderful cycle route from Bedford to Danish Camp, so much to see along the route, amazing scenery

A nice and generally quiet road with some nice villages in this area.

The path here is great for riding but many walkers and dog walkers. The Danish Camp was shut down due to Covid when I went through last time but looking forward to going back again when it is back up and running again.

Worth a detour to see the delightful Church and the nearby memorial for RAF Tempsford. The airfield was the "secret airfield" from which supplies and Special Operations Executive Operatives were flown behind enemy lines to support the resistance efforts. The memorial and nearby sign explain the undertakings of the two squadrons which operated from here. Worth also visiting the nearby Gibraltar Farm Barn from where the operatives were equipped before their missions...

Riverside Park is a place to rest after a ride and east something in the restaurant.
