The memorial is right next to the summit cairn, and is suitably low key for such a location and what it commemorates.

As the Arenig Fawr is an isolated peak the views in all directions are very good - including to the nearby Rhinogs.

Artificially enlarged, this beautiful lake provides perfect reflections of the mountain above. Wonderfully peaceful place you will often have entirely to yourself.

Arenig Fawr South Top is the twin top of Arenig Fawr in southern Snowdonia, North Wales. It is the second highest member of the Arenig range, being 18 m less than its twin. From here the south ridge continues into an area of rocky knolls and small tarns, where Arenig Fawr South Ridge Top can be found. It is a UK listed Nuttall.

Arenig Fawr South Ridge Top is a top of Arenig Fawr in southern Snowdonia, North Wales. It lies in area of rocky knolls and small tarns, found on the broad south ridge of Arenig Fawr. The summit, marked by a few stones, is a top of the highest rocky outcrop found in the area. The views are limited, blocked by the bulk of Arenig Fawr. A path leads down the west flank of the ridge towards Moel Llyfnant. It is a UK listed Nuttall.

This is a beautiful location. The lake is nestled in a rocky amphitheatre and just below the lip of the lake is a small bothy.

This is one of the few bothies in Wales. Very small but reasonably near the road. It is not well kept in any way but a useful place for shelter in an emergency/inclement weather. Great location.
