The Ciste Dhubh Trail is an easy circular, waymarked forestry trail through native woodland and along the banks of the River Garry. This HL is the riverside half of the trail, it loops back inland a bit through the woods to form a 1.75 mile (3km) loop.

Stunning waterfalls along the Allt na Cailliche river. The trail runs through pretty woodland here, too.

The current church was built in the 1860s and a pipe organ was added in 1896. The architect was A. Ross. The small church has changed little over the years and there is a service every Sunday. The doors are open during the day on weekdays from May to September.

This footbridge is not particularly trustworthy. A maximum of 5 people are allowed on it at the same time. But it offers a good alternative to the normal Great Glen Way through Inverness - on this route you avoid some of the busy roads that you would otherwise have to walk along.

This is such a lovely walk along the river. The trail is well made and perfect for all conditions.

This section is a must see. It really feels like the fairies are all around you. Enjoy the splendid natural beauty of this section!
