The Monte Moro Pass is located on the border between Switzerland and Italy, connecting the Saas Valley in Valais to the Anzasca Valley in Piedmont. The Monte Moro pass, located at 2,868 meters above sea level on the border between Italy and Switzerland, is characterized by the presence of the Madonnina placed on a rock spur, which represents the symbol of the pass. From here you have a wonderful view, with Italy on one side and the Saas Valley, Switzerland, on the other. You can admire the imposing east face of Monte Rosa. I advise you to arrive early, as after midday the clouds tend to lift from Italy. The terrain on both sides is not particularly technical, except for the summit itself, where there are chains to aid passage.

This year (August 2022) the cabin was not accessible through Felskinn. Only option from Saas-Fee via Morenia: steep climb via Egginerjoch then descend a bit and again steep climb to the hut. But well worth it.

The Monte Moro Pass (2853 m) is an alpine pass between Switzerland and Italy. The pass connects the Saas Valley in the Swiss canton of Valais with Macugnaga in the Italian region of Piedmont. A large and spacious hut with plenty of sleeping space. From here you have a great view. The easiest way to get there is via Felskin. A nicer option is via Plattjen and Heidenfriedhof or even from Mattmark over the Schwarzbergkopf.

Exciting route over the glacier to the Britania hut. The path is well marked (also over the glacier), but there are a number of large stones to be overcome. Absolutely top, but exhausting.
