In 2016, Bath Spa University purchased the former Herman Miller factory in Locksbrook, a modern riverside listed building designed by Nicholas Grimshaw and Farrell & Grimshaw and built in 1976, to become the new home of the Bath School of Art and Design. The building used a flexible movable panel design and won several awards, including the Financial Times Industrial Architecture Award for 1977 and the RIBA South West Award in 1978. Detailed redevelopment plans are being drawn for it to become the new home of the Bath School of Art and Design

No chance of getting going again once a foot goes down. Similar to Blackquarries hill at Wotton in length and sharpness, probably a bit steeper on the hairpin. The length of the 20-30% section is no more than double the amount you can see from the bottom.

One of my favourite stretches of road. On a summer's day it's beautiful. Best done heading away from Bath rather than towards as otherwise it drags a little due to the slight gradient and it being reasonably exposed to the wind.

Nice and long descent after Bathford hill / the less steep up to the golf course from the other direction. Surface is good, long and straight so very safe. Check across to your right halfway down to look across to Monkton Farleigh Manor.

Bridge here can become very congested with cars during peak hours. If visiting to appreciate the scenery, try to avoid busy periods for the best experience.

Fun descent and excellent climb the other way (less steep than most in the area). Be careful heading through Bathford with the 20 zone and parked cars.

One of the steepest hills in the UK. Done it twice, never again. Your entire body will ache after this. I wouldn't recommend doing it when it's icy / wet out as the surface can be very greasy/slippy in places (causing tyres to slip out of the saddle).

Alternative route vs cycle path (flatter) down below. This way is shorter but far hillier. I wouldn't recommend riding on this road during commuting hours but otherwise it's surprisingly quiet. Views are fantastic on the way into Bath.

Pulteney Bridge is a bridge over the River Avon in Bath, England. It was completed by 1774, and connected the city with the land of the Pulteney family which it wished to develop. Designed by Robert Adam in a Palladian style, it is highly unusual in that it has shops built across its full span on both sides.

Very nice and photogenic bridge, reminds me of the bridges in Florence and Erfurt. Must See!

Prospect Place is notorious as the hardest hill in the Bath area. It's just been resurfaced so the tarmac after the bend is much better than it used to be. It's still an absolute brute, though.
