You can take a nice cross country hike from the interesting historic Woodhenge ancient monument to the global icon that is Stonehenge. If you do this hike then you will save the parking and entry charges at Stonehenge (£30 ish). If you pay you get to go closer to Stonehenge (about 30m) but you get to within 70m on this walking route. You simply end up on the other side of the fence to the ticket purchasers. A beautiful place from the same time as Stonehenge, without any tourist crowds and entrance fees. Nice place, definitely come by. 2km west in Larkhill you can park very well, from there it is only a mile walk to Stonehenge. Also without congestion and queuing, only the tickets for inner zone you do not get there (but still can run on one side up to 30m - with ticket stop on 16m and from all sides).
